Bantam Royals in Rival tourney consolation semis
GUELPH – The Guelph Royals reached the consolation semifinals in their own Guelph Minor Baseball Association Bantam A Rival Tournament with a come-from-behind win over the Innisfil Cardinals Saturday at Hastings Stadium.
The Royals scored four runs in the top of the final inning to edge Innisfil 6-5.
Earlier in the tournament, the Royals were defeated 4-1 by Bloordale and 8-0 by Oakville while Innisfil edged Kawartha 4-3 and lost 18-1 to Chatham.
Guelph is to play Toronto Playgrounds in a consolation semifinal Sunday at 9 p.m. at the Larry Pearson Baseball Complex. Oshawa and Milton are to meet in the other consolation semifinal Sunday at 9 a.m. at Hastings Stadium.
Winners are to battle in the consolation final Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Pearson complex.
The championship semifinals pit Mississauga North against Bolton and Oakville against Ancaster at 9 a.m.
