Bears move on to boys’ hockey semifinals

ORANGEVILLE – The Orangeville Bears grabbed the fourth spot in next week’s District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league semifinals with a win over the Guelph CVI Green Gaels Friday at the Tony Rose arena.

The Bears won 8-1. Scoring details were not reported.

Orangeville had finished second at the end of the regular season with a 7-2-0-0 record while GCVI was seventh at 2-6-0.

Next week’s semifinals will have the Bishop Macdonell Celtics playing the Centre Wellington Falcons at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex Wednesday at 2 p.m. Orangeville will host the Erin Raiders in the other semifinal. Time and location of that game are to be decided.
