Bishop Mac keeps its unbeaten mark in senior hoops

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics remained undefeated in District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball play as they defeated the St. James Lions 53-32 Tuesday.

The win was the sixth in as many league outings for the Celtics.

Alicia Higgins led Bishop Mac with 18 points while Tyla Timlock added 14.

Grace Mencfeld had a game-high 26 for St. James and Lauralee Mackeigan followed with five.

 

Orangeville 37 Centennial 23

Krista Gott struck for 17 points for Orangeville.

Madison Miller had six for Centennial.

 

Ross 28 Guelph CVI 26

The Royals made it two wins in a row with the victory.

Sarah Hopkins led Ross with 11 points while Payton Rickers contributed four.

Cassidy Andrews collected 10 for GCVI and Leksi Dawes netted eight.

 

Junior

Centre Wellington 33 Lourdes 22

Frances Wolkensperg connected for 13 points to lead Centre Wellington while Kara den Hoed netted nine.

Isabella Banni had 12 for Lourdes and Ashley Ciccia contributed five.

 

Ross 48 Guelph CVI 46

Drue Costello’s 13 points led Ross while Bronwyn Sweeney added 11.

Olga Llander hit for 19 for GCVI and Ailsa Litchfield had eight.

 

Orangeville 42 Centennial 12

Victoria Tesar collected 12 points for Orangeville and Emilie Franz had 11.

Miren Oliver gathered four for Centennial.
