Brouillette second in Mississauga Marathon

MISSISSAUGA – Local runner Robert Brouillette of Cambridge placed second in the Mississauga Marathon Sunday.

Brouillette, who worked in Guelph, finished the event in two hours, 29 minutes and 34.8 seconds to finish behind Lucas McAneney of Burlington who won in 2:26:09.4

Eleven Guelphites finished the race — Chris Renaud (3:32:33.9), Lee Frank (3:38:21.6), Harley Gordon (3:53:23.7), Simon Malonda (4:04:59.6), Josh Davies (4:06:09.6), Chris Richmond (4:06:18.1), Stacy McMillan (4:09:01.9), Suzanne Conquer (4:13:04.5), Tanya Murphy (4:34:21.9), Jen Du Four (4:34:22.0) and Steve Lavender (5:25:06.9).

Several other locals finished the race. They included Jeffrey Cunningham of Campbellville (3:41:08.0), John McNeil of Acton (3:50:05.3), Jerry Degroot of Rockwood (3:58:00.0), Andre Belisle of Puslinch (3:58:52.4), Sarah Saunders of Mount Forest (4:10:27.9), Amy Robitaille of Rockwood (4:42:51.8) and Trish Teeter of Erin (4:46:50.1).

Three runners from Guelph finished in the top 100 of the half marathon.

Chris Macdonald was 39th in 1:28:24 while Jonathan Krashinsky was 66th in 1:33:02 and Francois Layton was 95th in 1:36:32.

Bonsa Gonfa of Toronto won in 1:06:17 while top female finisher was Lyndsay Tessier of Toronto 11th overall in 1:16:13.

The finishers from Guelph included Martin Lacelle, Robert Morgan, Elizabeth Stewart, Mark Fenske, Angela Drystek, Lindsay Robinson, Joe Stutzman, Elizabeth Hartnett, Jennifer Diton, Dave Steele, Jeff Bennett, Frank Horvath, Kristen Rekker, Jennifer Heaney, Raquel Gurr, Douglas Irving, Deanna Irving, David Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Tianjie Li, Mary Gilbert, Dan Kwik, Jennifer Deeks, Christina Longfield, Yiyuan Li, Christine Leskovar, Valerie Leeming, Steven Jeffreys, Lesley Daufenbach and Pam Wakefield.

Finishers from Rockwood included David Golych, Karen Grainger, Rachelle Peacock, Jeremy Simpson and Trish Capuano while finishers from Campbellville included Gloria Hewitt, Kealy Dedman, Monica Minakakis, Lynn Robinson and Sheila Kirk.

Other finishers included Elora’s Vicki Wyga, Emilie Norrie, Amanda Wagler and Lori Readyhough, Puslinch’s Caroline Alboin, Teresa Adams, Stephanie Nguyen and Chinh Dang, Acton’s Chris Barrington, Cheryl Stringer, Leanne Wilson and Angelito Casero, Mount Forest’s Shannon Tupling and Janelle Capell, Fergus’s Paula Newton and Catherine Tokarz and Jennifer Wilson of Hillsburgh.

Billy Bostad of Guelph was seventh in the 10K with a personal-best time of 33:28.2. Sergio Raez Villanueva of Mississauga won in 30:17.6.

Other finishers from Guelph included Jonathan Li Kam Wa, Mimi Sun, Teresa Norrish, Michelle O’Reilly, Jill Brejak, Amanda Anderson, David Anderson, Leigh Hardcastle and Mary Jaroszynski.
