Canadian lacrosse women add another victory

SURREY, England – Six consecutive goals helped Canada score a 10-6 victory over Wales in FIL Rathbones Women’s Lacrosse World Cup play Friday.

Dana Dobbie of Fergus had a pair of goals including the game-winner while Erica Evans, Alie Jimerson and Megan Kinna also scored twice apiece. Single goals were added by Bianca Chevarie at Taylor Gait while Jimerson had two assists and Crysti Foote and Kinna had one each.

The teams took 20 shots apiece.

Canada, England and the United States are each 2-0 in Pool A play while Wales,Scotland and Australia are each 0-2.

Canada is to play Scotland Saturday, U.S. Sunday and England Tuesday to wrap up pool play. Quarter-finals are set for Wednesday, semifinals Thursday and medal games July 22.
