Canes send pair to junior C squads

GUELPH – The Guelph Hurricanes of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League reassigned a pair of players Sunday.

The Canes sent forward Mackenzie Aiken to the Wellesley AppleJacks of the Provincial Junior Hockey League and defenceman Adrian Iudiciani of the PJHL’s Alliston Hornets.

Both were in their first season with the Canes. Aiken had been acquired from GOJHL Midwestern Conference rival Stratford Warriors at the end of October while Iudiciani had joined the Canes at the end of September after playing with the Aurora Tigers of the Tier 2 Ontario Junior Hockey League last season.

Aiken was held pointless and had 18 penalty minutes in 10 games with the Canes while Iudiciani had two assists and 16 penalty minutes in 21 games.

Including call-up players, the Canes have had 43 players suit up for them this season.

The Canes, seventh in the Midwestern Conference at 9-22-1-4, are to host the eighth-place Brantford 99ers (9-21-0-3) Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
