Centre Dufferin secures first in senior basketball

PALMERSTON — The Centre Dufferin Royals secured a first-place finish in District 4 high school senior boys’ basketball with a 59-32 win over the Norwell Varsity Reds.

The Royals made it seven wins in as many league outings when they downed the Norwell Varsity Reds 59-32 Wednesday.

With one game to go in the regular season, the Royals are four points ahead of the Westside Thunder.

Mark Taylor led Centre Dufferin with 10 points while Jesse Sterling followed with nine.

Ry Kuper had a game-high 17 for Norwell and Blair Butchart added four.

 

Westside 69 Wellington Heights 51

Michael Panter-Hough collected 24 points for Westside and Michael Horvath had 16.

Eli McDougall-Cook led Wellington Heights with 26 and Jake Bauman netted seven.

Centre Dufferin 69 Norwell 19

Thomas Moore and Jaden Hamilton-El each struck for 14 points for Centre Dufferin.

Xavier Guevarra had nine for Norwell and Connor McCulloch contributed six.

 

Erin 63 Wellington Heights 35

Ryan St. Denis had 14 points for Erin and Colden Reay collected 10.

Brendan Towell and Ethan Gibson each had six for Wellington Heights.
