Centre Wellington remains in first in boys’ hockey

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Falcons head into the two-week break for exams in first place in the District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league’s standings.

The Falcons received two goals and an assist from Riley Klompmaker in an 8-2 victory over the Ross Royals Thursday at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex.

Trent Spear also scored twice for the Falcons while Brock Hoelscher had a goal and an assist and Johnny Bauman, Thomas Coulter and Hayden Ireland each netted a single goal.

Noah Magnus and Blaise Shaw scored the goals for Ross.

The Norwell Varsity Reds and Guelph CVI Green Gaels have each finished their regular seasons while the other six teams are to play a game apiece when they return from the exams Feb. 6.
