Crusaders keep second with win in senior hoops

GUELPH – The Lourdes Crusaders kept pace with the league-leading Bishop Macdonell Celtics as they downed the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 58-22 in District 10 high schools senior girls’ basketball play Tuesday.

Jada Codrington led the Crusaders with 19 points while Jessica Matthieu had 16 and Sam Romero added nine.

Yasmine Saleh had eight for GCVI and Emina Bektic collected six.

Marta Suarez’s 31 points led Orangeville while Alicia Bowering gathered 18.

Sarah Hopkins had 15 for Ross and Emma Cooper contributed 13.


Lourdes 31 Guelph CVI 23

Modera Omot led Lourdes with 10 points while Kristen Vettoretto and Ashley Ciccia picked up seven apiece.

Eve Elford had eight for GCVI and Sofia Lucena chipped in with six.

Tyla Timlock netted 14 points for Bishop Mac.

Jessica Zhu had a game-high 25 for Centennial.
