Crusaders strike for first senior hoops win
ORANGEVILLE – The Lourdes Crusaders captured their first victory of the District 10 high school senior boys’ basketball season Tuesday when they downed the Orangeville Bears 73-57.
Will Vandenheuvel and Jacob Porcellato each had 20 points for Lourdes.
Charlie Hamilton hit for 20 for Orangeville while Hassan Badran followed with eight.
St. James 56 Bishop Macdonell 45
Alex Garbuio collected 13 points for St. James while Aidan Feeney netted 10.
Zach Valiquette had 16 for Bishop Mac while Kurt Sialana gathered 10.
Centre Wellington 47 Centennial 42
Centre Wellington remained unbeaten with the win while Centennial suffered its first loss.
Zach Cudmore had 15 for Centre Wellington and Jonny Barclay hit for 11.
Jake Warywoda had 11 for Centennial and Davin Ramdath and Cameron Powell contributed eight apiece.
Ross 77 Guelph CVI 51
Ross also remained undefeated with the victory.
Khaled Djabo had 27 points for Ross.
Ben Tofil struck for 18 for GCVI.
Bishop Macdonell 45 St. James 29
Bishop Mac picked up its first win of the season.
Luca Desando had eight points for Bishop Mac and Matt MacEachren chipped in with seven.
James Martin had seven for St. James.
Orangeville 67 Lourdes 49
Orangeville remained unbeaten with the win.
T.J. Walkinshaw had 30 points for Orangeville.
Kevin Martinez had a game-high 34 for Lourdes while Sebastian Porcellato added eight.
Centennial 58 Centre Wellington 44
Centennial scored its first win of the season.
Jackson Wallace had 15 points for Centennial.
Levi Humber led Centre Wellington with 16 while Aiden Davy had 12.
Ross 64 Guelph CVI 43
Cole Miller’s 31 points helped Ross stay unbeaten. Lazar Stojanovic added six.
Cam Wheeldon had 16 points for GCVI while Tennessee Tremain collected 11.
