Daniel Coyle guides Tienna to PDI Sunday Classic win

ROCKWOOD — Daniel Coyle scored his second major win of Angelstone Tournaments’ The International meet Sunday when he rode Tienna to the victory in the $35,000 PDI Sunday Classic.

Coyle had won Thursday’s $35,000 Kubota Open Welcome aboard Fortis Fortuna.

Sunday, Tienna/Coyle were fastest of five horse/rider combinations to reach the jump off as they blazed the circuit in 32.425 seconds.

That was 2.130 seconds faster than runners-up Royale Du Rouet/Erynn Ballard.

All five who were clean in the first round were also clean in the jump off.

Hera Van De Kouterhoeve/Keean White finished third at 35.634 seconds. They had been sixth in Saturday night’s $40,000 Groupby Grand Prix.

Z Diamanty/Erynn Ballard were fourth at 37.021 seconds and Caprice/Jonathon Millar fifth at 37.061.

Rounding out the top eight, all with four faults apiece in the first round, were Shaia De Macheco/Sam Pegg, Carlotta/Andrew Bourns and Boris 218/Bianca Lafontaine.

The International was the fifth and final major meet of Angelstone’s season and the final meet of its Summer Tour, a three-meet series held on three consecutive weeks.
