Eagles also into CWOSSA A boys’ soccer semifinals

DELHI – The Emmanuel Christian Eagles won a tie-breaker to advance to the semifinals of the CWOSSA A high school boys’ soccer championship tournament.

The Eagles and the Valley Heights Bears of Langton finished tied for second in their pool in the preliminary round of the tournament Wednesday. Both had a loss and a tie.

Emmanuel Christian got to advance as they had lost by a single goal (1-0) to the Walkerton Riverhawks while Valley Heights had lost by four (5-1).

The Eagles and Valley Heights tied 1-1.

Scoring details were not reported.

Woodland Christian Cavaliers of Breslau went 2-0-0 to finish first in the other pool while the Waterford Wolves were second at 1-1-0 and the Georgian Bay Vikings of Meaford went 0-2-0.

Thursday’s 11 a.m. semifinals have Emmanuel Christian playing Woodland Christian and Walkerton going up against Waterford. Winners gain berths in the 2 p.m. final.
