Erin Raiders in CWOSSA A/AA boys’ hockey semifinals

OWEN SOUND – The Erin District Raiders are into the CWOSSA high school A/AA boys’ hockey tournament’s semifinals following three wins Monday.

The Raiders defeated the St. Mary’s Mustangs of Owen Sound 3-1, Paris Panthers 5-2 and Delhi Raiders 3-2 in overtime.

Erin finished atop its pool while St. Mary’s finished at 2-1, Paris at 1-2 and Delhi at 0-3. Other games in the pool saw St. Mary’s blank Delhi 4-0 and Paris 2-0 and Paris defeat Delhi 2-0.

The St. James Lions were in the other pool but didn’t advance to the second day of the tournament as they were defeated 5-4 in overtime by the Grey Highlands Lions of Flesherton, 5-3 by Holy Trinity Titans of Simcoe and 5-0 by St. David Celtics of Waterloo.

St. David finished at 3-0 while Holy Trinity was at 2-1, Grey Highlands at 1-2 and St. James at 0-3. In other games in the pool, St. David edged Holy Trinity 3-2 in OT, Holy Trinity slipped by Grey Highland 3-2 and St. David blanked Grey Highland 2-0.

Tuesday morning’s semifinals have St. David playing St. Mary’s and Erin taking on Holy Trinity.

Winners move on to the final set for 2:30 p.m. at Julie McArthur Arena.
