Erin Raiders seeded 11th for OFSAA hockey tournament

ERIN – The CWOSSA A/AA champion Erin Raiders are seeded 11th for next week’s OFSAA provincial high school boys’ hockey championship tournament at Fort Frances.

The Raiders have been placed in Pool B along with the second-seed Holy Trinity Titans of Courtice, Hearst Nordiks and Jean Vanier Storm of Collingwood.

The Fort Frances Muskies are seeded first while the St. Mary’s Crusaders of Hamilton are seeded third, Belle River Nobles are fourth, Campbellford Flames fifth, St. Anne’s Eagles of Clinton sixth, Holy Cross Raiders of St. Catharines seventh, St. Thomas Aquinas Saints of Kenora ninth, Widdifield Wildcats of North Bay 10th, Immaculata Saints of Ottawa 12th, O’Gorman Knights of Timmins 14th, Forest Hill Falcons of Toronto 15th and Dryden Eagles 16th.

The tournament runs March 21 to 23.

Erin is to play Hearst March 21 at 9 a.m., Holy Trinity March 21 at 5 p.m. and Vanier March 22 at 11 a.m.

Top two in each of the four pools advances to the quarter-finals set for March 22 at 5 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

The semifinals and medal games are on March 23’s schedule. The semifinals are slated for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., the bronze-medal game for 5 p.m. and the gold-medal game for 7:15 p.m.
