Falcons remain unbeaten to top senior hoops’ standings
GUELPH – The defending champion Centre Wellington Falcons grabbed sole possession of first place in the District 10 high school senior boys’ basketball standings with a little help from the centennial Spartans.
The Falcons remained unbeaten with a 66-53 victory over the Guelph CVI Green Gaels while Centennial handed the Ross Royals their first setback in league play as the Spartans won 69-43.
Johnny Barclay led Centre Wellington with 18 points in the win over GCVI. Lorenzo Moscheni had 16 for the Gaels.

Will Vandenheuvel hit for 25 points for Lourdes while Geeth Kenneth followed with 23.
Kurt Sialana led Bishop Mac with 16 while Justin Faienza had eight.
St. James 81 Orangeville 62
Matt Sanvido netted 25 points for and Alex Garbuio added 18.
Charlie Hamilton had 24 for Orangeville and junior call-up Rowan Steele collected 14.
Lourdes 58 Bishop Macdonell 52
Kevin Martinez struck for 27 points for Lourdes and Tyler Blais gathered nine.
Adam Cunningham had 15 for Bishop Mac and Adam Zen contributed 14.
Orangeville 58 St. James 30
Brandon Hughes sparked Orangeville with 13 points and he was followed by Rowan Steele with 12 and T.J. Walkinshaw with 10.
James Martin led St. James with 11.
Guelph CVI 59 Centre Wellington 39
Cam Wheeldon connected for 14 points for GCVI while Tennessee Tremain had 12 and Leo Szabo had 11.
Aiden Davy had 10 points for Centre Wellington and Levi Humber netted nine.
