Falcons win twice in return to junior rugby

GUELPH – The Centre Wellington Falcons returned to District 10 high schools junior boys’ rugby play with a pair of victories on a soggy Thursday at Varsity Field.

The Falcons took last year off after reaching the semifinals in 2015.

Thursday, Centre Wellington defeated the Erin Raiders 29-5 and the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 14-10.

Zach Toffemier had two tries in the win over Erin while Ruben Boley, Caleb Willmet and Brad Parkinson added one try apiece and Ethan Kosempel kicked two converts.

Malcolm Alderdice had a try for Erin.

Scoring details for the game against GCVI were not reported.

Adam Ford had five tries and three converts for Ross while Kevin Chartland, Colton Godin and Noah DeVine each scored one try and Calvin Fogle added a convert.

 

Erin 37 Centre Dufferin 0

Alderdice had three tries and a convert for Erin while Jordan Tutt scored two tries and Ryan St. Denis and Dylan Early each had one try.

 

Ross 32 Guelph CVI 10
