Farlinger/Charming Force race to Erin Welcome Grand Prix win
ERIN — Kim Farlinger rode Charming Force to victory Saturday night in the $25,000 Erin Welcome Grand Prix at Angelstone Tournaments’ main stadium.
Farlinger/Charming Force were fastest of the four rider/horse combinations who had clear rounds in the first round.
After going second quickest of those with fault-free rounds in the opening round with a time of 72.54 seconds, Farlinger/Charming Force won $6,250 for having a clear round of 37.606 seconds on the shorter jump-off course.
Beth Underhill/ Count Me In were second at 39.628 and Quincy Hayes/ Calgary 56 were third at 39.909 after having the fastest clear round in the opening round at 72.14.
Hugh Joseph Graham/ Knock Out 3e were fourth at 42.847 seconds and four faults.
Three rider/horse combinations took one time fault apiece in the opening round while another seven combinations had four-fault rounds.
A total of 23 rider/horse combinations completed the opening round.
