Gaels head into break unbeaten in senior girls volleyball

GUELPH – The Guelph CVI Green Gaels remained unbeaten and atop the District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball league following a 3-0 sweep of the Bishop Macdonell Celtics Thursday.

The Gaels won 25-23, 25-21, 25-12.

GCVI leads the eight-team league at 8-0 while perennial rivals Ross Royals and Centennial Spartans are tied at 6-2. Bishop Mac and St. James Lions are both at 4-5 while the Lourdes Crusaders follow at 3-5, Centre Wellington Falcons are at 2-6 and Orangeville Bears are at 0-8.

League play resumes Jan. 9 with all eight teams in action.
