Galaxy edged in penalty kicks in DaSilva Cup play
MARDEN – Guelph Galaxy was ousted from Kitchener & District Soccer League men’s DaSilva Cup play Friday night at Marden Park when they were edged 3-2 by Listowel United in penalty kicks.
The teams had battled to a 2-2 standoff in regulation time.
Andrew Forbes scored both goals for Galaxy while Listowel United received goals from Joey Neves and Zach Vines.
Listowel won the shootout with three goals as Lucas Hillcoat, Keith Mckintosh and Daniel Murtha connected.
Galaxy (0-2-0) is to return to league play Sunday with a 6 p.m. game at the Centennial Bowl against Sonnys FC (3-0-0).
