Gargoyles dropped at home by Toronto Dingos

GUELPH – The Grand River Gargoyles fell behind early and never recovered as they were dumped 100-33 by the Toronto Dingos in Australian Football League Ontario play Saturday at Margaret Greene Park.

The Dingos led 26-12 at the end of the first quarter, 52-18 at halftime and 65-27 after the third quarter.

Andrew Matthews led the Gargs with three goals while Greg Logel scored two.

Geoffrey Hansen had five goals for the Dingos while Thomas Santibanez-Espinosa had four, Richard Nolan had three and Tom Bell, Steven Speers and Lynden Evers had one apiece.

The loss leaves the Gargs at 1-1-0. They’re to host the High Park Demons (0-2-0) at Margaret Greene Park Saturday at noon.
