Gargoyles leave High Park Demons behind

HAMILTON – The Grand River Gargoyles pulled away after the first quarter to drop the High Park Demons 104-37 in Australian Football League Ontario play Saturday at Mohawk Park.

The Gargs struck for 15 goals and 14 behinds in the match with 12 goals and 10 behinds coming after the first quarter.

Guelph led 22-14 at the end of the opening quarter and extended that lead to 48-22 at halftime and 78-23 after the third quarter.

Scoring stats were not reported.

The result leaves the Gargs fourth in the 10-team league at 2-1-0 and 110.68 per cent. The Demons are 10th at 0-3-0 and 22.52 per cent.

The Gargs are to host the Toronto Rebels () Saturday at noon at Margaret Greene Park.
