GCVI rugby seniors add second win of season

SHELBURNE — The Guelph CVI Green Gaels made it two wins in as many outings in the District 4/10 high school senior boys’ rugby league when they downed the Centre Dufferin Royals 38-21 Monday.

The Gaels received three tries from Sam Phippen and a try and four converts from Sam Steinhauser. Ben James and Devin Struyk added one try apiece.

Kyle Besley, Mitchell Mobbs and Aidan Oliver each scored a try for Centre Dufferin and each try was converted by Alan Godbout.

 

Junior Boys

Guelph CVI 21 Centre Dufferin 5

The Gaels scored their second win in as many league outings with the victory.

Tries for GCVI were scored by Brandon Inthavaley, Brett Reynolds and Josh Wegman while Blake Forester converted all three.

Alex Crowley had a try for Centre Dufferin.

 

Girls

Ross 67 Bishop Macdonell 17

Ross remained unbeaten with the victory.

Anna Bernardi collected 24 points for the Royals who won for the fifth consecutive time.

No other scoring details were reported.

 

Orangeville 46 Westside 0

Orangeville bounced back from their loss to Ross last week with a win over town rival Westside.

Jessica Gribbon scored three tries for Orangeville while Holly Bonney-Brookman scored two and Leah Visser, Leah Inglis and Hannah Curzon scored one apiece. Sydney Trewartha kicked three converts.
