Grand River Gargoyles clobber High Park

GUELPH — The Grand River Gargoyles evened their record at three wins and three losses as they dropped the High Park Demons 96-29 in Ontario Australian Football League play at Margaret Greene Park.

The Gargoyles are tied for fifth in the 10-team league while High Park has lost all six of its games.

Andrew Matthews led the Gargoyles with seven goals while Alex Filipowicz had three and Samuel Wood, Joshua Ross, Nathan Millar and Sam Skelhorn had one apiece.

Trent Silvers had two goals for the Demons while Dale Simnett and Matt Gallus had one apiece.

The Gargoyles are to host the Central Blues (3-3) at Margaret Greene Park Saturday. Game time is 12 noon.
