Gryphon field hockey women blank Waterloo

WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons scored twice in each half for a 4-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors in OUA women’s field hockey play Friday.

Kayla Magarelli scored in the third minute and Danielle Crumpton added the second goal in the 31st minute.

Maria Murray and Magarelli added goals in the second half.

Amanda Hodgert was credited with the shutout.

The Gryphs are second in the standings at 4-1-2, trailing only the York Lions who’ve won all eight games they’ve played.

The Gryphs and Lions are to tangle Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Varsity Field.
