SUDBURY – The Guelph Gryphons rebounded from their Friday loss with a 3-0 blanking of the Laurentian Voyageurs in OUA women’s hockey play Saturday at Sudbury’s Countryside Arena.

Valerie Lamenta stopped 26 shots to pick up her fifth shutout of the season.

The Gryphs scored twice in the first period and once in the third for the win.

Emma Forcey, Karli Shell and Kelly Gribbons collected a goal apiece while assists were awarded to Mallory Young, Molly Crossman and Kaitlin Lowy.

Karen Collins was charged with the loss in the Laurentian net. She faced 34 shots.

The Gryphs were scoreless on their only power play while Laurentian was scoreless on two power plays.

With one game to go in their regular season, the Gryphs (13-4-6-0) know they’ll finish either second or third in the league’s final standings as they’re tied for second with the Western Mustangs (13-3-52) who also have a single game to go.
