Gryphon lacrosse women collect tie and loss

LONDON – The Guelph Gryphons picked up a tie and suffered a loss in OUA women’s lacrosse league play Sunday at Western.

The Gryphs battled the McMaster Marauders to a 4-4 standoff before losing 11-3 to the host Western Mustangs.

The game against McMaster was the second against the Marauders this season. Guelph had opened the 2017 campaign with a 7-4 victory over McMaster a week earlier at St. Catharines.

The Gryphs stand at 1-2-1 following the games in London while McMaster’s at 0-3-1 and Western’s at 3-1-0.

The Gryphs are to return to Western Saturday for a pair of league games as they’re to play the Laurier Golden Hawks (3-1-0) at 8:30 a.m. and Western at 12 noon.
