Gryphon lacrosse women split opening games

ST. CATHARINES – The Guelph Gryphons opened their OUA women’s lacrosse season by splitting a pair of games Sunday as all teams in the league gathered at St. Catharines on the weekend.

The Gryphs opened their season with a 7-4 win over the McMaster Marauders and fell 14-8 to the Brock Badgers in their second game.

Scoring details were not available.

The Gryphs are to make two weekend trips to London as they’re to play McMaster Sunday at 10:15 a.m. and the Western Mustangs at 1:45 p.m. this weekend. Next weekend they’re to face the Laurier Golden Hawks and Western.

The Gryphs will get three games at home Sept. 30 with matches against the Trent Excalibur, Toronto Varsity Blues and Queen’s Gaels.
