Gryphon lacrosse women win twice at Waterloo

WATERLOO – The Guelph Gryphons completed the OUA women’s lacrosse league’s regular season with a pair of wins Sunday.

In a mini-tournament hosted by the Laurier Golden Hawks, the Gryphs dropped the UOIT Ridgebacks 15-3 and York Lions 11-5.

Scoring details were not available.

The Gryphs finish the regular season with a 3-9-1 record.

All 10 teams in the league qualify for this weekend’s championship tournament at Kitchener’s Woodside Park.

The Gryphs, who finished fourth in the West Division, are expected to play York in the opening round Friday at noon. York finished fifth in the East Division. Winner of the game will play the Western Mustangs, first-place finishers in the West, Friday at 7 p.m.
