Gryphon OSL U21s topped by GPS Academy

OAKVILLE – The Guelph Gryphons were handed a 4-1 setback by GPS Academy in Ontario Soccer League U21 Provincial South play Monday at Kings Christian Collegiate.

Duncan McHattie scored the lone goal for the Gryphons.

Raymond Giang had a pair of goals for GPS Academy while Austin Ngobia and Gianluca Spadafora also scored.

That loss followed a 5-2 loss to Hamilton Sparta last week at Centennial Bowl.

McHattie and Keith Porter had the goals for the hosts in that game.

Joseph Guindy and Robert Tamale tallied twice apiece for Hamilton Sparta while Kristian Canaris had the other goal.

The Gryphons have lost all three league matches they’ve played this season. GPS Academy has won both of its games while Hamilton Sparta’s win was in its season opener.

The Guelph side is to play the Burlington Bayhawks (0-0-0) at Burlington’s City View Park Sunday at 9 p.m.
