Gryphon Provincial Elite women edged by league leaders

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons suffered a 1-0 loss GS United in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial Elite play Tuesday night at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Shannen Jainudeen scored the game’s only goal.

GS United leads the 10-team league at 11-1-0 while the Gryphons are second at 9-4-1 and they’re followed by Vaughan Azzurri at 8-3-1, Durham United at 7-5-3 and Woodbridge Strikers at 6-5-2.

The Gryphons are to complete their season Friday with a home game against Vaughan Azzurri. Game time at the Gryphon Soccer Complex is 9 p.m.
