Gryphon volleyball men pull even by sweeping RMC

KINGSTON – The Guelph Gryphons climbed back to the .500 winning percentage mark with a sweep of the RMC Paladins in OUA men’s volleyball play Saturday at the Kingston Military Community Sports Centre.

The Gryphs won 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.

Zach Newman collected eight kills, three aces, a dig and a block for Guelph while Josh Green had seven kills, an ace and four digs and Jackson Paterson added four kills, an ace, three digs and two blocks. Oliver Hissink had five kills while Kaj Wigston had six digs and Sam Nothnagel had two blocks.

Dale Towe had 14 kills, an ace, six digs and a block for RMC while Jaden Rook had two aces and six digs and Travis Verbeek had three kills, an ace, two digs and two blocks.

The Gryphs move to 3-3 with the win while RMC falls to 1-4. The Guelph side is to play the York Lions (3-1) at York Friday at 8 p.m.
