Gryphons U21 women downed by Kitchener

KITCHENER – Kylie Swain had the lone goal for the Guelph Gryphons as they were handed a 3-1 setback by Kitchener Spirit in Ontario Women’s Soccer League Provincial U21 South play Thursday at Kitchener’s Centennial Park.

Hayley Ferguson, Kendra Saxton and Nikita Truong collected a goal apiece for Kitchener.

The loss dropped the Gryphons to 2-4-2 while the win was the first of the season for the Spirit who moved to 1-6-1.

The Gryphons are to host FC London (4-1-1) Thursday at 9 p.m. at the Gryphons Soccer Complex. Game time is 9 p.m.
