Guelph ringette tournament set to start Thursday
GUELPH — Guelph Ringette Association’s annual tournament is set to start Thursday with six games at the West End Community Centre.
First game Thursday is slated for 6 p.m.
The tournament continues throughout the weekend with the medal games set for Sunday.
A total of 68 teams representing 30 communities are to compete in the tournament that has 13 divisions of play.
The host association’s Predators are represented in 10 of the divisions and five of the teams are to be in action Thursday.
The Elora-Fergus Edge are represented in three divisions.
Divisions include under 8, under 9, under 10, under 12 red blue, under 12 red red, under 14A, under 14AA, under 16AA, under 19A, under 19AA, under 19R, 18+A and 18+B.
Other communities represented include Calgary, Cambridge, Central Pickering, Central Whitby, Chatham, Dorchester, Forest, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Markham, Mississauga, Nova Scotia, Oshawa, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Pickering, Richmond Hill, Sault Ste. Marie, St. Marys, St. Thomas, Stratford, Sudbury, Sunderland, Tillsonburg, Waterloo, West Ferris and York-Simcoe.
All arenas in Guelph are to host games in the tournament. Games are also to be played at the Elora and District Community Centre and Kitchener’s Sportsworld sports complex.
West End Community Centre
6 p.m.: U14A, Kitchener vs. Guelph
7 p.m.: U19A, Guelph vs. Mississauga
8 p.m.: U16AA, Waterloo vs. Guelph
8 p.m.: 18+A, Elora Fergus vs. Hamilton
9 p.m.: 18+B, Guelph Gold vs. Stratford Thunder
9:15 p.m.: U19AA, Waterloo vs. Guelph
