Guelph’s Laundry wins Ironman 70.3 Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – Jackson Laundry of Guelph, a member of the LPC Triathlon Team, claimed his first ever Ironman win Sunday when he took top spot in Ironman 70.3 Raleigh.

Laundry completed the race in three hours, 55 minutes and 23 seconds to finish almost three minutes ahead of runner-up Matt Chrabot of the U.S.

Competing in the men’s pro class, Laundry had been fifth after the swim, but gained two places in the transition from the swim to the bike. He gained the other two places cycling and led by almost a minute and 40 seconds at the end of 88.2 kilometres on the bike.
