Hockey Bears win to keep non-Guelph schools unbeaten

GUELPH – The Orangeville Bears struck for their second win in as many District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey outings as they dropped the Bishop Macdonell Celtics 5-1 Monday at the West End arena.

Ryan Graham had a pair of goals for the Bears while single markers were added by Brendan Chapman, Kyle Waters and Dakota Zarundy.

Jeremy Lightbourne netted the goal for Bishop Mac.

The win by Orangeville keeps all the non-Guelph teams in the eight-team league undefeated. The Erin Raiders have won all three of their games while Orangeville, Norwell Varsity Reds and Centre Wellington Falcons each have two wins.

That trend might come to an end this week as Orangeville is to play Norwell at the Palmerston arena Wednesday and Centre Wellington is to host Erin in Fergus Thursday.
