Hurricanes blanked by Stratford Warriors
STRATFORD – The scoring woes of the Guelph Hurricanes continued as they were blanked 4-0 by the Stratford Warriors in Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League play Friday night at the Allman Arena.
It’s the fourth time this season that the Canes have been shut out.
The Warriors scored once in the first period and added another goal in the second before netting two in the third.
Graham Brulotte was involved in all four goals for Stratford as he scored one of them and assisted on the other three. Jack Scanlan had a goal and two assists while former Hurricane Corson Searles and Ryan Nicholson also scored. Dylan Lebold had two assists and Connor Gregga had one.
Stratford’s Andrew Vigliatore stopped 20 shots for his first shutout of the season.
Trenton McGrail faced 33 shots in the Guelph net.
The Canes were held scoreless on six power plays while Stratford went 1-for-5 on its power plays.
The result leaves the Canes at 9-24-1-4 and Stratford at 27-8-1-1.
The Canes are to host the Waterloo Siskins (20-13-1-3) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
