KDSL Gryphons slip by Owen Sound United to share cellar

GUELPH – The Guelph Gryphons have moved from sole possession of the basement of the Kitchener and District Soccer League’s Men’s Division’s basement into shared occupancy following a 2-1 win over Owen Sound United Thursday night at Eastview Park.

Isaac Pourier and Jose Martinez scored a goal apiece for the hosts while Oliver Clark responded for Owen Sound.

The win leaves the Gryphs at 3-11-0, the identical record amassed by Listowel United. They’re tied for eighth in the nine-team league.

Owen Sound falls to 5-8-1 and is sixth.

The Gryphs are to complete their season with a pair of games in the next week. They’re to play seventh-place Supersonics (3-7-3) at Sonics Park Sunday at 4 p.m. and host third-place Riverside FC (8-4-2) Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at Riverside Park.
