Lamontagne/Chanel du Calvaire grab another win
ROCKWOOD – Francois Lamontagne of St-Eustache, Que., and Chanel du Calvaire scored their second victory in three days as they took top spot in Saturday’s Headwaters Cup Grand Prix, the feature event at Angelstone Tournaments’ Headwaters Cup meet.
Lamontagne/Chanel du Calvaire won Thursday’s Open Welcome by 5/1000ths of a second in a jump off.
Saturday, their margin of victory was a little larger as they prevailed in a jump off that included eight rider/horse combinations by 56/100ths of a second. They completed the fastest of three fault-free jump-off runs in 33.074 seconds while runner-up Hugh Joseph Graham of Schomberg and Knock Out 3E were second at 33.634 seconds.
Third went to Kathryn Dafoe of King City and Eos de Donkhoeve in 36.568 seconds.
Others to get to the jump off with clear first rounds were, in finishing order, Elissa Reisman of Caledon East and Citizenguard Cadjanine, Carly Campbell Cooper of Waterloo and Fiero Van Orti, Erynn Ballard of Hillsburgh and Carimba B, Susan Horn of Bolton and Balintore and Kevin Crosby of Rockwood and Sombrero Brimbell S.
The event attracted a total of 28 rider/horse combinations.
The Headwaters Cup Modified Grand Prix is set for Sunday at 11 a.m.
