Laundry second in Chattanooga Ironman

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Jackson Laundry of Guelph finished as the runner-up in Sunday’s Sunbelt Bakery Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga.

A member of Guelph’s LPC Triathlon Club, Laundry finished the event in 3:47:16 and was 48 seconds behind the winner, Andrew Starykowicz of the U.S. Adam Otstot of the U.S. was third, 57 seconds behind Laundry.

Laundry was second of 33 in the men’s pro class, second of 1,437 male athletes in the race and second of 2,226 competitors in the event.

He had either the fifth- or sixth-fastest time in the men’s pro class in each of the three disciplines and those efforts added up to the second-place finish. He was sixth in the swim in 19:55, fifth in the bike at 2:07:22 and fifth in the run at 1:16:59.
