Lourdes finishes senior soccer regular season with first win

GUELPH – The Lourdes Crusaders completed the District 10 high schools senior boys’ soccer league’s regular season by registering their first win of the season.

The Crusaders edged the Centre Wellington Falcons 4-3 Thursday to claim a sixth-place finish at 1-3-3.

Tyler Alessio had a pair of goals for Lourdes while Alex Anderson and Mike D’Angelo also scored.

Carlen Golding scored twice for Centre Wellington while Michael Ferguson had the other goal.

The playoffs are to start with Tuesday’s quarter-finals.


Bishop Macdonell 2 Guelph CVI 0

Joseph Raso hit for both goals for Bishop Mac while Kalim Klement recorded the shutout. Bishop Mac finished the regular season unbeaten and in second place at 3-0-4.


Orangeville 7 St. James 0

Marcus Simms had a hat trick for Orangeville while Jaden Cork netted a pair of goals. Getting one goal apiece were Jeriah Valladares and Liam McIlwraith.


Ross 2 Centennial 0

Reshab Dahal and Jacob Tucker scored the goals for Ross as the Royals completed the regular season undefeated and in first place at 6-0-1. Ian Davies had the shutout.



Guelph CVI 2 Bishop Macdonell 1

Scoring details not reported. GCVI moved to third with the win.


Lourdes 5 Centre Wellington 1

Sebastian Porcellato had a hat trick for Lourdes while Owen Duffy and Christian Balansag alsos cored.

Centre Wellington’s scorer was unavailable.


Orangeville 2 St. James 0

Andrew Paolucci scored both goals for Orangeville.


Ross 6 Centennial 2

Gray Yates led Ross with a pair of goals while William Rodenburg had one of the other goals.

Dani Alonso and Ethan Glascott scored for Centennial.
