Lourdes, Norwell out of A/AA girls hockey tourney

KINCARDINE – Both the Lourdes Crusaders and the Norwell Varsity Reds were ousted from the CWOSSA A/AA girls high school hockey championship tournament Monday.

Both teams suffered three losses to finish fourth in their respective pools.

The Crusaders were defeated 2-0 by the Kincardine Knights, 2-1 by the St. David Celtics of Waterloo and 3-1 by the Galt Ghosts.

The Varsity Reds were blanked 2-0 by the Holy Trinity Titans of Simcoe and 1-0 by the Paris Panthers and they were edged 3-2 by the Grey Highlands Lions of Flesherton.

Scoring details were not reported.

Tuesday’s semifinals pit Paris against Kincardine and St. David against Holy Trinity. Winners gain berths in the final at 12:30 p.m. at Kincardine’s Davidson Centre.
