Norwell nails down first-place finish in senior volleyball

FERGUS – The Norwell Varsity Reds of Palmerston remained undefeated in the District 4 high schools senior boys’ volleyball league Wednesday with a 3-1 win over the Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus.

The Varsity Reds won 24-26, 25-13, 25-16, 25-16.

The loss in the opening set was Norwell’s first set loss in league play this season.

The victory also clinched a first-place finish for Norwell.

The Varsity Reds lead the league at 8-0 while Emmanuel Christian and the Westside Thunder of Orangeville are tied for second at 5-3. Wellington Heights Wolverines of Mount Forest and Erin Raiders are tied for fourth at 3-5 while the Centre Dufferin Royals of Shelburne are sixth at 0-8.
