Patriots stretch home win streak to 11 games

MOUNT FOREST – The Mount Forest Patriots struck for the first three goals of the game in a 4-1 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Saturday night at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.

The win was the 11th consecutive win at home for the Patriots who scored the only goal of the first period and added two more in the second before the teams scored once apiece in the third.

Mount Forest received goals from Shawn Lantz, Ryley Cribbin, Hayden Coulter and Blair Butchart while Jack Birkett, Cribbin, Derick Acheson, Nathan Bolger, Butchart and Dylan Brown each had one assist.

Payton Dunlop scored for Kincardine with Logan Freiburger getting an assist.

The Patriots outshot Kincardine 31-26 and both teams went 1-for-7 on their power plays.

David Lobsinger picked up the win in net for the Patriots. He made 25 saves. Craig Luinstra took the loss for Kincardine. He stopped 27 shots.

Mount Forest leads the Pollock Division at 21-5-0-0 while Kincardine is at 17-9-1-3 and is tied for second with the Walkerton Hawks (18-6-1-1).

The Patriots are to host Walkerton Sunday at 2 p.m.
