Patron/New Wave 3E victorious in Modified GP

ROCKWOOD – Yannick Patron of Brampton rode New Wave 3E to victory in Sunday’s Headwaters Cup Modified Grand Prix at Angelstone Tournaments.

After a clear first round, Patron and New Wave 3E completed the jump-off course in 31.971 seconds to be fastest of the six rider/horse combinations that had fault-free runs in the extra round. A total of 10 rider/horse combinations competed in the jump off.

Rachel Schnurr of Waterloo and Prince Garbo were second in the jump off with a time of 32.026 seconds while Erynn Ballard of Hillsburgh and Bella Donna were third in 32.095.

Rounding out the clear rounds in the jump off were Andrew Kocher of Ocala, Fla., and Zhivago in 32.229 seconds, Emilie Parent of St-Augustin, Que., and Twydil Charlekijn in 34.247 and Muhammad Itani of Essex and Tax Free in 35.913.

Others with clear first rounds were Kocher and Pebbles IV, Jeff Brandmaier of Guelph and Retina du Vilpion, Kocher and Disaronno and Hyde Moffatt of Brantford and Stormin’.

A total of 20 rider/horse combinations took part in the event.

The Headwaters Cup was the second meet of Angelstone’s two-meet Spring Tour.

Angelstone’s three-meet Summer Tour is to start with The Champions Aug. 16 to 20. The tour also includes The National Aug. 23 to 27 and The International Aug. 30 to Sept. 3.
