Provincial Elite Gryphons downed by Durham United

PICKERING – The Guelph Gryphons were handed a 2-0 setback by Durham United in Ontario Women’s Soccer League play Wednesday night at Pickering’s Kinsmen Park.

Genava Winterink scored both goals for Durham United.

The Gryphons are second in the 10-team league at 5-2-1 while Durham United is tied for fourth at 3-3-2.

The Gryphons are to host the sixth-place North Toronto Nitros (3-3-1) Monday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex. Game time is 9 p.m.

Guelph and North Toronto are also to meet next Thursday at 9 p.m. at Downsview Park.
