Ross Royals take their girls’ hockey opener

GUELPH — The Ross Royals opened their District 10 high schools girls’ hockey season with a 6-4 victory over the St. James Lions Thursday at the Victoria Road arena.

Courtney Phillips led the Royals with a pair of goals while Lauren Stevens had a goal and an assist and Claire Kelterborn, Keegan Camp and Sarah Taylor each netted one goal. Aniela Breen, Avery Lomax and Taylor Doyle each had one assist.

Caitlan Krasinski hit for a pair of goals for St. James while Kayla Beaver and Bella Hadfield added single goals and Shannon Green picked up an assist.
