Royals eighth seeds at OFSAA West baseball

GUELPH – The Ross Royals have been seeded eighth for the OFSAA West baseball tournament that is to start Wednesday.

The CWOSSA champion Royals are to play the ninth-seeded Bishop Carter Golden Gators of Hanmer, the Northern Ontario champs, Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Their second game will be Wednesday at noon. If they beat Bishop Carter, they’ll play the top-seeded St. Anne Saints of Windsor. If the Royals lose to the Golden Gators, they’ll play the loser of a 9 a.m. game between the second-seeded A.N. Myer Marauders of Niagara Falls and seventh-seeded St. Peter’s Panthers of Barrie.

Other teams at the OFSAA West tournament are the third-seed Our Lady of Mount Carmel Crusaders of Mississauga, fourth-seed Oakridge Oaks of London, fifth-seed Riverside Rebels of Windsor and sixth-seed Christ the King Rebels  of Georgetown.

The tournament is to conclude Thursday with two teams advancing to the OFSAA semifinals at London June 7.
