Royals seeded 10th for OFSAA AAA girls’ hockey

CAMBRIDGE – The CWOSSA champion Ross Royals are seeded 10th for next week’s 16-team OFSAA provincial high school AAA girls’ hockey championship tournament.

The Royals have been placed in a pool with third-seed Brooklin Bears of Whitby, fifth-seed Chatham-Kent Golden Eagles of Chatham and 16th-seed Sacred Heart Huskies of Ottawa.

Other teams in the tournament are first-seed Medway Cowboys of Arva, second-seed Lawrence Park Panthers of Toronto, fourth-seed Eastview Wildcats of Barrie, sixth-seed St. Peter Saints of Peterborough, seventh-seed St. Maximilian Kolbe Mustangs of Aurora, eighth-seed Bishop Allen Cardinals of Etobicoke, ninth-seed Notre-Dame Alouettes of Sudbury, 11th-seed St. Martin Mustangs of Mississauga, 12th-seed Bishop Ryan Celtics of Hannon, Blessed Trinity Thunder of Grimsby, 14th-seed St. Mary’s Eagles of Kitchener and 15th-seed Holy Cross Crusaders of Kingston.

Ross is to play twice at Cambridge Sports Park on March 21 as the Royals are to face Chatham-Kent at 8 a.m. and Sacred Heart at 12:30 p.m. and they’re to play Brooklin at the Sports Park March 22 at 9:30 a.m.

Top two in each pool advance to the quarter-finals set for March 22 at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at Hespeler Memorial Arena.

Semifinals and medal games are to go at Hespeler Memorial Arena March 23. Semifinals are slated for 8 a.m. with the bronze-medal game scheduled for 11 a.m. and the gold-medal game set for 1 p.m.
