Shutout victories the trend in D10 soccer openers

GUELPH – Winners had a blanking good time in all games reported from the District 10 high school girls’ soccer season openers Thursday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex.

Of the scores reported, the winners recorded shutout victories.

The Ross Royals, Guelph CVI Green Gaels and Bishop Macdonell Celtics each recorded two wins while the St. James Lions had one.

 

Ross 3 Centennial 0

Jenna Bridges, Mckenzie Coole and Abbi Morell hit for a goal apiece.

 

Guelph CVI 4 Orangeville 0

Tessa Ladhani and Amy Pike each had two goals.

 

Bishop Macdonell 2 St. James 0

Ella Fitzpatrick and Claire Wyville scored the goals.

 

Ross 9 Orangeville 0

Abbi Morell netted five goals while Kiersten Bell, Eliza Cazolla, Emma Elliott and Ashton DalBello had one each.

 

Guelph CVI 1 Centennial 0

The game’s only goal came in the first half with Tessa Ladhani scoring.

 

St. James 6 Centre Wellington 0

Olivia Brown had a hat trick while Caitlan Krasinski scored twice and Maddy McLennan added a single goal.

 

Bishop Macdonell 5 Lourdes 0

Bishop Mac received goals from Dominica Szal, Katherine Guardiero, Claire Wyville, Ella Fitzpatrick and Mayah Capovilla.
