Shutout win moves soccer Lions into tie for second
GUELPH – The St. James Lions moved into a tie for second in the District 10 high school girls’ A soccer league standings with a 2-0 victory over the Guelph CVI Green Gaels Tuesday.
The result leaves the Lions, Gaels and Bishop Macdonell Celtics at 2-1-0, trailing only the unbeaten Ross Royals (3-0-0).
Linnea Ramirez scored both goals for St. James while Isabella Chianta picked up the shutout.

Abbi Morrell hit for all three goals for Ross.
Claire Wyville scored for Bishop Mac.
Orangeville 4 Lourdes 0
Orangeville celebrated a win for the first time in almost four years.
C. Hannaford scored two of the goals while Maeva Baldassara and Marjka Luce also scored.
It was Orangeville’s first win in league play since May 13, 2014. The Bears had 20 losses and a tie since then.
Centennial 2 Centre Wellington 0
Eve Boulanger and Jessica Hill scored for Centennial as the Spartans posted their first win of the season.
